Difference between various electric vehicle battery

As a novice in the electric vehicle industry, before choosing a suitable charger, you need to understand the differences between various electric batteries, this article will help you quickly understand

Brief introduction:

At the beginning of the large-scale emergence of electric bicycles, the batteries used in electric bicycles were often called “water batteries”, rather than the maintenance-free gel batteries and lithium batteries that are now common. It was filled with battery water like a bottle, and electric vehicle users at that time were used to calling it “battery”.

Now the main development direction of new energy vehicles is electric vehicles, which are also called electric vehicles in habit. Many people call electric bicycles battery cars, but starting from common sense, this is wrong. Of course, when it appears in written language in the future, electric vehicles will not be omitted as electric vehicles, and electric vehicles will still be synonymous with electric bicycles.

Electric vehicle battery classification

Electric vehicle batteries are mainly divided into three types: lead-acid batteries, lithium batteries and nickel metal hydride batteries

The difference between lead-acid battery, lithium battery and nickel metal hydride battery in electric vehicle battery

1. Lead-acid batteries are composed of electrolyte and lead plates. The current mainstream lead-acid batteries are valve-regulated lead-acid batteries. Its characteristic is that batteries with sulfuric acid electrolyte do not need to add “water” and ” Acid”, which can protect against charging and discharging.

2. Lithium batteries are made of lithium metal or lithium alloy as the negative electrode material and use a non-aqueous electrolyte solution. Its structure is more complex than that of lead-acid batteries. It has four key materials, including positive electrodes, negative electrodes, diaphragms, and electrolytes. With different positive electrode materials, lithium batteries are also divided into various types, such as lithium iron phosphate, lithium cobalt oxide, lithium manganese oxide, ternary lithium battery and so on.

3. Ni-MH storage battery is a new energy battery developed by utilizing the characteristics of rapid and large-scale shuttle movement of lithium ions between the graphene surface and electrodes. However, the graphene batteries currently on the market are all lead-acid batteries with graphite added. Graphene batteries are not scientifically defined “graphene batteries”.

Electric vehicle battery difference

1. Different product positioning: battery cars generally refer to electric sightseeing cars, express cars, etc., which are tool cars for short distances, while electric cars often refer to new energy vehicles with long battery life such as electric cars, electric motorcycles, and electric buses.

2. The mileage is different: the power source of the battery car is mainly the lead-acid battery, which is relatively simple, but there are many types of electric cars, such as solar drive, lithium battery drive, gasoline engine driven generator drive, these all become electric cars, single The battery car drive is only one type of power source for electric vehicles, and the range of electric vehicles is larger.

Seeing this, I think you should know how to distinguish various batteries. In the next article, I will introduce in detail how to identify your own electric vehicle battery
